The Career Glow Story: Clarity, Confidence & Community

I’m Kim Boyd — known by many as The Career Confidence Coach — and I believe every career journey deserves clarity, confidence, and a community that supports your growth.

​

My story begins long before Career Glow existed. I started my career as an admin assistant and spent more than three decades navigating the banking and financial services world — climbing, pivoting, learning, leading, and rebuilding through every season of change. I’ve been the beginner, the leader, the one searching for purpose, the one finding her way back, and the one discovering new strengths she didn’t know she had.

Along the way, I became a mentor, a people leader, a talent acquisition consultant, an online instructor, and eventually, a Vitiligo advocate and leader, and a career coach — not because it was planned, but because people consistently trusted me to guide them. They came to me for clarity, strategy, encouragement, and truth. They knew I would help them see what was possible.

Career Glow was born from that trust.

​

It’s more than a coaching business — it’s a movement rooted in empowerment. It’s a space for career changers, professionals at crossroads, and ambitious individuals who want their careers to feel purposeful, aligned, and achievable. It’s where confidence meets strategy. Where clarity becomes direction. Where you step into who you are meant to be.

Through the G.L.O.W. framework — Gain Clarity & Confidence, Lean Into Strengths, Open New Doors, and Win With Purpose — I teach people to understand their value, communicate their strengths, create opportunities, and move forward boldly.

But the heart of Career Glow is community.

That’s why I created C.A.R.S. — the Career Advancement & Readiness Support community — a local, in-person support space in Metro Detroit where careers, conversations, and confidence can grow together. It’s where people realize they’re not alone in navigating career change. It’s where breakthroughs happen.

My mission is simple:

Help people find their voice, trust their strengths, and take control of their careers with confidence and clarity.
